BOA Group delivers new exhaust sub-module for truck application

BOA Group, one of the leading manufacturers of flexible metal decoupling systems for acoustic, thermal and vibration decoupling in Automotive, Industrial and Aerospace applications, secured an order for BOA Exhaust System sub-modules with one of the major North American Truck Manufacturers.

BOA successfully secured this business delivering a pipe assembly with an integrated EnduroFlex® exhaust hose, which is designed and validated for a durability of more than 1.000.000 miles. Initial samples will be delivered in July 2017; SOP is scheduled for January 2018. At least until 2023 BOA will deliver about 3,000 modules per year. BOA is already an outstanding supplier for this customer, and the addition of pipe assembly business brings a new dimension of performance and support.

Kevin Fromm, Vice President of the Industrial Division, states: “We currently manufacture pipe assembly business for other customers, and we’re thrilled to expand our product offering here. BOA has a long standing relationship with this manufacturer, with a history of high quality and engineering coordination. That tradition will continue with this new business award: We remain proud to be partnered with such a strong, globally recognized truck brand.”

EnduroFlex® exhaust system hoses are soft but strong, thin walled stainless steel bellow systems for exhaust systems. They are specifically designed for each vehicle/engine combination to decouple the engine from the exhaust system. It compensates the engine motions and vibrations as well as the thermal elongation of the exhaust system to enable durability and influence the vehicle sound and noise. This results in a weight reduced exhaust system which leads to an optimized vehicle weight ending in a lower fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emmissions.
