BOA wins major contract for Exhaust Flex Hoses for new DAIMLER Platform

The BOA Group, one of the leading manufacturers of flexible metal decoupling systems for the acoustic, thermal and vibration decoupling in Automotive, Industrial and Aerospace applications, won the contract for developing and supplying flex hoses for the exhaust systems of a new passenger car platform of DAIMLER AG.

Starting end of 2017, the BOA Group will produce several millions of decoupling elements in its plants in Romania, China and the US to equip more than 6 million passenger cars until 2026. The BOA ENDUROFLEX® systems compensate thermal stresses in modern EU6 exhaust systems as well as eliminate vibrations generated by motor and vehicle that could lead to noise and mechanical damage.

“We are pleased to have won this contract”, Thomas Kraus states, VP Business Development Automotive at BOA. “This enables us to further pursue our objectives to generate additional growth in the global automotive sector. With our strategy to establish Engineering Centers as well as value-added chains locally at our customers, we are able to enter and expand new markets.”

BOA ENDUROFLEX® systems are developed to realize longer  run-times in combination with a space and weight reduced function in highly demanding exhaust systems for passenger car and truck applications. The combination of different materials with innovative design allows weight reduction of single components up to 30%; the production of these special bellows could be made possible only with our innovative production methods. At the same time a multiplication of life span with run-times of more than 1.000.000 kilometers could be realized due to optimizing the decoupling characteristics.

The BOA Group has 8 production plants worldwide. Since last year it is also operating with a plant in Arad/Romania producing automotive products for Europe.
