BOA Group receives large contract for specialty expansion joints for oil refinery

Petrochemical Industry

Complete technical expertise as well as superior design, which are validated by many years of flawless operations, is the main criteria by which manufacturers are selected if orders for the supply of expansion joints for FCCU are awarded. FCCU play a central role in the operation of oil refineries and affect their financial result substantially. The failure of critical equipment including expansion joints result in costly loss of production.

The award of a contract from a German refinery to the BOA GROUP, just short of 1 million € in value, once again proves that our organization meets the stringent requirements of this market.

The order includes a total of 5 expansion joints for the various standpipes and for the reactor of the FCCU. The diameters of the hot- and cold shell expansion joints range from 800 mm to 1600 mm and some of the joints will weigh more than 10 tons. The joints will withstand pressures of up to 7,4 bar and temperatures of more than 550°C.
