Pressure Resistance

“Can you deal with high EGR pressures under hot conditions?”

We understand the geometry and behavior of bellows and design and engineer connecting parts to have high burst pressure and a very high cycle count

“Can you deal with high EGR pressures under hot conditions?” Absolutely and in fact, 9 bars is sufficient for the new car emission laws.  “Can you withstand 20 bars of pressure without adding any extra components?”. Yes, no problem. “No one else can solve this challenge, can you help us?”. Questions like these are what really brings us alive. Passionately solving the impossible that no one else can.

At BOA, we design and engineer connecting parts to have high burst pressure and a very high cycle count (>10^6). We’re talking billions of pressure cycles. For example, 250 pressure cycles per second for revving a car engine. How do we overcome this? We understand the geometry and behavior of bellows. We perform FEM-analysis and have in-depth knowledge of high cycle fatigue.

We also have the capability to produce a bellow with even more than 3 plies, as multiple plies provide high flexibility and pressure resistance. Adapting the shape of convolutions if required.

Over the years, we have designed and validated thousands of high and low-pressure EGR, oil drain pipes, exhaust decouplers. Always with excellent pressure resistance testing and validation. We look at the individual needs of our client and create a plausible solution that works every time. Consistently providing the right connection to match conflicting objectives whilst remaining sustainable by avoiding waste.

The future is BOA. Always finding the right solution.
